Jiu Jitsu, Ju Jitsu, Ju Jutsu, Jitsu are all different names for the same thing.
The style we practice is Shorinjikan Jiu Jitsu, often referred to simply as Jitsu. Jitsu is a practical self-defence martial art that focuses on the use of locks, throws, strikes and holding techniques to deal with real life situations. Originating from ancient Japanese techniques used by the Samurai when forced to fight without their weapons, Jitsu teaches you to overcome stronger, larger, more powerful opponents, even armed ones. For more information on Jitsu, check out The Jiu Jitsu Foundation website or the FAQs here.
You don’t have to be fit to do it, but you will get fit doing it! So, come along, get fit, make new friends and experience Jitsu for yourself! Beginners are welcomed all year round and your first session is free!
Jitsu is suitable for virtually everyone, turn up to any of our sessions in some loose clothing (tracksuit bottoms and an old t-shirt are ideal), and have a go!
